The Grand Ball for Peace of 1864 is on June 22nd, 2013
The Grand Ball of Peace 1865 will be Aug. 17, 2013 to celebrate the ending of the Civil War.
The Balls are held in the Community Center Ballroom, Virginia City, Montana Territory. Music is provided by Professor R. Alexander James and his Distinguished Dance Music Ensemble. The dancing will be precepted by Dance Mistress TJ Wald.
Dance lessons will be held at 1pm and 2pm on the day of each ball with a $5/per person fee. It is highly recommended that you participate so you are familar with the dance steps in the evening. You can pay for the dance step training at the door.
The Balls will start with the Promenade down the Virginia City Boardwalk promptly at 6:30pm. Ballroom doors open at 5:30pm. Spectators and camera buffs may line the boardwalk on both sides of the street. The Grand March will begin at 7:00pm in the Ballroom, specatators are welcome in the upstairs Gallery, donations appreciated. A light Repast will be served at 9:30pm for ball participants.
Punch will be provided by Nancy Allen proprietor of the Bennett House Country Inn Bed & Breakfast for a nominal charge of $1.00 per glass with unlimited refills. Civil War Era Dress is recommended as we are recreating an activity that took place here in Virginia City, Montana Territory.
